Source: Corporate Social Responsibility - The Windy City is about to get windier. And hopefully, less reliant on fossil fuels. IKEA recently announced their purchase of Hoopeston Wind, a wind farm of 49 wind turbines near Hoopeston in Vermilion County, two hours south of Chicago.The purchase is the first wind power investment IKEA has made in the USA and their largest renewable energy project ever.

India ready with draft policy to reduce emissions from deforestation

Source: Times of India - Taking forward an agreed framework of the 2013 Warsaw climate conference, India has come out with a draft national policy on 'reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation' (popularly known as REDD+ initiative) which will enable local communities to get financial incentives for increasing forest cover.
